What is Chinese New Year?

Gong Xi Fa Cai 恭喜发财

If you literally translate "Gong Xi Fa Chai", it would mean "wishing you enlarge your wealth."

Gong Xi: means wishing/blessing

Fa: means enlarge(ment)

Chai: means wealth

So a literal translation is that you wish someone will become very rich, but the phrase is generally used as Happy New Year.
Gong Xi Fa Chai everyone!
February 7, 2008 will mark the beginning of the Year of the Rat and Year 4705 of the Chinese Calendar

Chinese New Year (Xin Nian) typically lasts two or three days, but the New Year season extends from the middle of the previous years' 12th month to the middle of the 1st month of the new year. It is a holiday celebrated by Chinese the world over
This site actually has how it sounds to say Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Our family will be celebrating at our churches Lunar Festival on Feb 2nd so should have photo's soon.
